Schefers Roofing is seeking an entry-level Project Manager at our home office in Grain Valley, MO.
Schefers Roofing is a premier family-owned commercial contractor with over 28 years of award-winning experience in the roofing and construction industry, offering a wide variety of roofing services including sheet metal, preventative maintenance, roof restoration, new construction and more.
This position is entry-level and while prior experience or knowledge related to commercial roofing or project management is preferred, it is not required. The ideal candidate is a motivated, detail-oriented individual with a high level of integrity looking to advance their career in the construction industry.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare material take offs, track job cost and schedule installation
- Perform job site surveys
- Evaluate project leads
- Estimate new construction projects and re-roofs
- Contract management and distribution
- Determine material, labor requirements, and prepare itemized lists
- Negotiate service and repair strategies and value, address resistance, effectively write and present proposals
- Prepare close out documents after project completion
- Ensure proper safety and quality requirements are being met by installation crews
- Effectively interact and communicate with customers, vendors, office and field staff
Qualifications:
- Industry Experience: 1-2 years
- Project Management Experience: 1-2 years
- Exceptional communication skills applied appropriately throughout the company
- Ability to work without oversight and function in a team setting
- Confidently approach conflicts and issues
- Construction/project management background
- Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office and industry-specific technology

This position is entry-level and while prior experience or knowledge related to commercial roofing or construction is preferred, it is not required.
The ideal candidate is a motivated, detail-oriented individual looking to start a career or gain experience in the construction industry. Experience with AutoCAD drafting is highly preferred, however, training will be provided for the right candidate.

We are currently seeking an entry-level Drafting Technician who is eager to learn and grow within the organization at our office in Grain Valley, MO. - Work closely with estimators and project managers to obtain information associated with job submittals
- Prepare drawings with the use of AutoCAD
- Complete drawings based on client requirements from review of initial technical blueprints through AutoCAD with adherence to established specifications
- Document all changes, issues, or communications related to jobs
Ideal qualifications for this position include:
- Experience with or knowledge of AutoCAD LT
- Strong organization and planning skills
- Strong attention to detail and quality of work
- The ability to work without oversight, and function in a team setting
- Will ask questions and research to find correct information
- Construction-related background is a plus
