Skilled craftsmen are the backbone of our industry. They provide the essential services that keep our world moving.

Established in 2019, National Skilled Trades Day honors skilled trades workers and raises awareness about the value of the skilled trades workforce in the U.S.

Trade jobs are occupations that require advanced training or specific skills learned through means other than a traditional education degree, such as roofing technicians or sheet metal craftsmen.

Currently, many businesses in trade fields are facing an unprecedented labor shortage. According to a report from Angi, “At a time when there is both booming consumer demand for construction and maintenance work…  the skilled trades have a huge opportunity.”

While many industries have been hit hard by pandemic setbacks causing slow job growth, skilled trades were increasing across the U.S. A recent report shows over a 20 percent growth in roofing job opportunities. Additionally, those working in skilled trades have higher job satisfaction, with nearly 9 out of 10 tradespeople listing their job satisfaction as either very satisfied or somewhat satisfied.

Our work wouldn’t be possible without the talented and dedicated people that make up the trades industry. From our field crew, service technicians, fabricators, and every essential worker in our field, we’re grateful for the hardworking men and women that make up our industry.
